Role Description This is a full-time Data Governance & Enterprise Architect role based in Sofia, structured as a hybrid position that combines on-site collaboration with flexible work-from-home arrangements. The role is responsible for designing and maintaining the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring that business, application, data, and technical architectures are aligned with cybersecurity and compliance objectives. Day-to-day tasks include defining data governance standards, documenting data flows and data ownership, overseeing data quality controls, and supporting secure data integration across platforms. The person in this role will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, review and improve architecture models, and contribute to strategic roadmaps that support NIS2 readiness and broader regulatory compliance. Regular responsibilities also include assessing architecture risks, recommending improvements, and providing guidance on best practices in security, data management, and technology adoption.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Data modelling: Review conceptual, logical and physical models to ensure they accurately represent business needs.

• Data governance: Contribute to practical policies for data quality, retention and metadata, with clear ownership and responsibilities.

• Data cataloguing: Work with business teams to document data definitions and maintain a useful, reliable catalogue.

• Enterprise architecture: Keep data objects, interfaces, flows and lifecycle documentation aligned with the actual environment.

• Data consistency: Support the coherent use of master and reference data across solutions.

• Cross-team collaboration: Help architecture and analytics teams design data solutions that meet the client’s standards.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in data management, data governance and analytics.

• Strong data modelling skills, supported by hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Practical experience with data warehouses and data lakes.

• Experience using a data catalogue or governance platform and an enterprise architecture tool.

• A collaborative approach, sound analytical judgement and the ability to turn complex requirements into clear documentation and workable decisions.

• Professional English proficiency and the ability to work from Sofia, Bulgaria.
