Security Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer for an exciting opportunity with a client in a multinational environment. You will join the Security & Compliance Management team, working closely with global security experts, infrastructure teams, and system administrators to design, implement, and improve IT security architectures across cloud environments.

Needed skill-set:

– Understanding of IT security and cyber security principles

– Knowledge of network architecture and network security

– Basic understanding of common security technologies and how to assess them from an information security perspective

– Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and host protection technologies (AV, XDR, host-based firewalls)

– Understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems

– Ability to work in a structured and analytical manner

– Good spoken and written communication skills in English

Good to have:

– BS/BA in (Business) Informatics, Computer Science, or a related technical field

– Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, ITIL)

– Experience with security monitoring and SIEM solutions (e.g. Splunk)

– Exposure to digital forensics and security incident analysis

– Understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V)

– Familiarity with cloud environments (Microsoft Azure, AWS)

– Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies (VPN, VLANs, routing, BGP, MPLS, SDN)

– Experience with vulnerability management tools (Qualys, Nessus)

– Exposure to enterprise technologies and vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortigate, VMware, Docker

– German language skills are a plus

Note: In-depth expert knowledge is not required. The role focuses on understanding core principles, how technologies function, and evaluating them from an information security perspective.
