We are currently looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering department. This role is a great fit for someone who already has practical experience in cybersecurity or security operations and wants to continue developing across security monitoring, incident response, network security and secure infrastructure.

The position combines day-to-day security operations with hands-on work across network security, firewalls, infrastructure and cloud environments. You will participate in monitoring, investigating and resolving security-related events and incidents, while also contributing to the improvement of security controls and secure technical environments. We are looking for someone who can contribute from the start, but who is still motivated to learn, broaden their expertise and grow within the team.

Working as INDEAVR Security Operations Engineer you will excel at:

• Monitoring, investigating and responding to security events, alerts and incidents across network and infrastructure environments

• Identifying potential security threats, vulnerabilities and risks and supporting their investigation and remediation

• Supporting the implementation, operation and continuous improvement of security controls across customer and internal environments

• Investigating security, network, connectivity and performance-related incidents and contributing to root cause analysis

• Configuring, administering and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls and related network security components

• Creating and maintaining firewall policies, network segments, NAT rules and secure connectivity

• Configuring and troubleshooting site-to-site and remote-access VPN connections

• Supporting secure network architectures, including routing, switching, VLANs and network segmentation

• Participating in security and firewall-related deployments, upgrades, migrations and configuration changes

• Monitoring security and network infrastructure and contributing to its reliability, resilience and protection

• Working with other Cloud Engineering, Security Operations and infrastructure specialists on cross-functional technical initiatives

• Maintaining accurate technical documentation, security procedures, network diagrams and configuration records

• Following established change, incident and security management processes

• Identifying recurring issues, security risks and opportunities for technical improvement

What we look for:

• 1+ years of practical experience in network engineering, network administration, network support or a similar hands-on technical role

• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, common security threats and security controls, with a genuine interest in developing further in security operations and network security

• Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining or troubleshooting enterprise firewalls;

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT and DNS

• Practical understanding of firewall policies, traffic flows, network segmentation and VPN technologies

• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and network security issues in a structured and independent manner

• Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux infrastructure and how network services interact with wider IT environments

• Ability to work with technical documentation, diagrams and operational procedures

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage several technical issues in a dynamic environment

• Strong communication skills and professional English proficiency, with the ability to collaborate with customer representatives and cross-functional technical teams

• Proactive attitude, ownership mindset and willingness to continue learning

What we will value but NOT insist on:

• Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and FortiPAM

• Experience with other enterprise firewall platforms such as Check Point, Stormshield, Palo Alto Networks (optional)

• Experience with high-availability firewall configurations and redundant network designs

• Exposure to cloud networking and security concepts in Microsoft Azure, AWS or another cloud platform

• Experience with security monitoring, log analysis, SIEM, vulnerability management or other security tools

• Basic scripting or automation knowledge

• Relevant certifications such as Fortinet Certified Associate or Professional, CCNA or equivalent networking and/or security certifications
