Principal Cybersecurity Project Manager / PMO Lead – Sofia, Bulgaria

EuroWork Navigator is recruiting an experienced Principal Cybersecurity Project Manager / PMO Lead for a leading global professional services organisation in Sofia, Bulgaria.

This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced cybersecurity project leader to take ownership of complex enterprise security programmes, vulnerability management initiatives and project governance. You will work at the intersection of cybersecurity, IT operations, risk and governance, while also contributing to the development of a growing Managed Detection and Response (MDR) function in Sofia.

Your Role

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex cybersecurity projects and programmes

• Lead and oversee the Vulnerability Management PMO function

• Establish effective project governance, reporting and risk management processes

• Manage project scope, priorities, risks, dependencies and delivery across multiple initiatives

• Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders, internal teams and external partners

• Drive vulnerability management initiatives covering identification, prioritisation, remediation and continuous improvement

• Coordinate project scoping, intake and alignment activities

• Lead security-related projects, including penetration testing engagements

• Ensure cybersecurity programmes follow recognised standards and best practices, including NIST and ISO 27001

• Support compliance with internal security frameworks and applicable regional regulatory requirements

• Contribute to the setup and development of an MDR team in Sofia

• Identify opportunities to optimise processes and improve cybersecurity programme effectiveness

• Coordinate closely with cybersecurity, IT operations, business teams and external partners

• Promote accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across project teams

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related field

• 10+ years of project or programme management experience, including at least 5 years within cybersecurity

• PMP and/or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification – mandatory

• Agile certification such as PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM or equivalent

• Cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or OSCP

• Proven experience leading complex cybersecurity or security transformation programmes

• Experience managing penetration testing engagements

• Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, cybersecurity governance and risk management

• Strong experience with Agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies

• Proficiency with MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira and Confluence

• Good understanding of NIST and ISO 27001

• Understanding of compliance requirements within the European Economic Area, particularly in high-security environments

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills

• Confident working in client-facing international environments

• Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously
