Commerzbank is a leading international commercial bank with branches and offices in almost 50 countries. We are looking for an intern to join our Cyber Defense and Base Services team.

Program overview:

• Duration: 9 months

If you are:

• Currently a bachelor’s or master’s student in a technical major.
• Familiar with Security Concepts: Knowledge of core principles like the CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability), malware types, phishing, and access control.
• Familiar with Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls, and subnets.
• Problem-Solving person and can analyze issues, identify patterns, and approach problems logically.
• Precise when reviewing logs, analyzing alerts, or configuring security settings.
• Familiar with Operating Systems: Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments, including command-line interfaces.
• Highly motivated to learn new things and shape your future career in IT.
• Able to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Communicative and proactive and have the willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team goals.
• Fluent in English.

*German would be considered as an advantage.

You will get the chance to:

• Learn from and be mentored by experienced Cyber Defense and product development teams.
• Work in a real agile environment and collaborate with international teams who are friendly, supportive and open to new opinions and ideas.
• Support the teams with various tasks related to the operation and improvement of SIEM, SOAR and other security tools (e.g. log onboarding, documentation, basic configuration, reporting).
• Participate in the analysis of security events and learn how threat detection use cases are designed, tested and maintained.
